This is an adventure of four children named Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy. They are living with an old
professor during World War II in the country of England. Their adventure begins when Lucy discovers a magical wardrobe that
takes her to the land of Narnia. She finds out that Narnia is ruled by an evil witch and when she comes
back no one believes her. Soon, however, all four of the children go into Narnia. Their is a secret among the
children, however, and it's up to Aslan the lion to make things right in Narnia again.
Review
This book was first read to me when I was really little, and I loved it. It is a great idea for a book
and I still enjoy reading it today. The way that Lewis makes a connection between fantasy and christianity is
remarkable. The good and evil characters in the book are also very cleverly made and developed. This book does
have some very negative effects, however. In my mind this book moves by way too quickly and they hardly have any time to
develope a good story. The total time period is about a day long, until the end of the story and again this makes for
a very limited story. Lewis also fails to tell us a lot about Narnian history in this book and a good explanation of
where some of the characters came from. This is probably the worst written book in the Narnian series and this can
be justified by being written first. I think you should still read it, because it still is a fun book to read and it will
help you complete the Chronicles of Narnia.
