Summary

Digory Kirk lives with his aunt, uncle, and sick mother in London. He soon meets the girl next door named Polly Plumber, and they soon become good friends. Well they're fooling around in the attic, they stumble upon a secret lab of Digory's Uncle Andrew where he works with magic. Well they're there, Uncle Andrew tricks Polly into putting on a ring that sends here into an in-between world where you can get into other worlds. Digory quickly goes to the rescue of Polly and that's where their adventure began. They proceed to go to Charn and revive Jadis, Queen of Charn and soon after accidently bringing her home, get to the creation of Narnia with their rings and taking the witch with them. This story explains how Narnia was created and where everyone came from.

Review

The book that takes place before any other Narnian book and that tells the story. Lewis does an excellent job at explaining how everything came into Narnia and what happened on the day that it was created. I love how he puts Charn in the book and having the children go there, it shows that the witch wasn't really even from the same planet as Narnia. The story is great from the beggining and you just fall in the love with the characters in the book, because they're written so well. Frankly I wanted to read 1000 more pages in this book, but unfortunatly it had to end at 186 and I loved it to the end. I really can't think of anything negative to say about this book, other than that I wish they would have explained what the witch did up to the Wardrobe days. That isn't too big, however, because they talk about so much other stuff that happens in Wardrobe. So this is a definate reader for everyone.
